Did anybody happen to take notes...
...during the "America Without Roe vs. Wade" panel? If not, the panelists will have to write up our impressions, which are likely to be slightly different from what the audience remembers. Actually, I think it'd be neat to have some audience impressions... if you attended that panel and would like to share your thoughts, could you either comment here or message me? Thanks! |

Panel report: Women in Male Dominated Careers Panelists: Laruenn McCubbin, Carolyn Jones, Beth Andres-Bec, Jessamyn Seeing as I work in such a career-field this is rather relevant. Very happily, we had more than one person in the room who wasn't working in the Tech-sector. Two had experience in Construction, another male-dominated area. We love diversity. ( Read more... )For next year, this panel could be divided into two parts, roughly: - Women in Male Dominated Careers: Coping Strategies
- Women in Male Dominated Careers: Pushing for Cultural Change
There was interest in both aspects, but there wasn't enough time to get into them much. Sometimes the job market isn't fluid for you and you can't move. |

Tags and tagging
I added "panels, w36" tags to the panel reports so far. I might (energy and interest available) go through and put the hash tags from the pocket program book in as well. And of course, feel free to tag your own posts similarly. Thanks for all the great transcripts and reports! Anyone tracking general blogosphere posts? |

Vid: Black Steel (Born in Flames; WisCon 36 premiere)
The playlist from the WisCon vid party will be posted soon! I premiered this vid––it's for the 1983 film Born in Flames, which I encourage you all to see, but it should be quite watchable as a vid about the feminist revolution if you don't know the source. Black SteelMusic: Black Steel by Tricky (original song by Public Enemy; vocals by Martina Topley-Bird) Video: Born in Flames (dir. Lizzie Borden, 1983) Edited by Lila Futuransky "The right to violence is like the right to pee. You've got to have the right place and the right time." Revolutionary becoming in a past speculative future: a transformative homage to Lizzie Borden's 1983 film Born in Flames. Streaming, download etc at Dreamwidth and LiveJournal. |

Lost an earring
I lost an earring last night -- it's got a red stone, with nice metal loops going around the edges and a little ball dangling underneath. My mom gave it to me. If you find it can you please put it in lost and found, or email me at charlieanders2@gmail? Thank you!!! |
