Intergenerational GLBT Dialogue panel
Originally, we were billed as a "panel." Now, we're dubbing ourselves a "conversation." We will have a moderator, but when we meet on Friday at 4:00, we will arrange chairs for a conversation and proceed to do just that, seeking only to make certain that everyone who wants to talk, cans the chance to have a respectful hearing.
Originally, this session's name claimed it was about the "GLBT" movement, but now we're open to anyway you want to define this movement (or maybe it's multiple movements) that trace their roots to the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City. The original description of this panel also sounded like it was designed for older folks to lecture younger folks, so we're pitching that description, too. (Note: We didn't have time to delete it from the program book.)
Our new mission is to have a true intergenerational dialogue. What are the Baby Boomer activists and other elders ignoring? What do they need to hear? What do they need to do? What are activists from different generations missing? What do they need to hear and do? How can we all help each other?
If you can't come to our session, please let us know what topics you'd like us to discuss. Post your comments here. And if you have the time, please join us in Conference Room 3 at 4:00 p.m., Friday.
